Peak Season Ski Rep

CAN'T COMMIT TO WORK A FULL SEASON? NO PROBLEM!

PGL Travel Ltd is recruiting PEAK SEASON SKI REPS to accompany our school groups on their ski trips to Austria, Italy, France, Switzerland and Bulgaria during the school February half-term holiday in 2009.

Our Ski Reps are the real front line people in resort who ensure that all the work carried out in preparation for the trip pays off.

We're looking for diplomatic, organised people who aren't afraid to think on their feet and can adapt quickly to situations as they arise. You will ensure that every aspect of the trip runs smoothly.

In practise, this involves liaising with your hotel, coach drivers, ski school, ski hire shop, evening entertainment venues and the groups' party leader.

One major aspect of a PGL Ski Rep's role is to provide a full evening entertainments programme for each group. This is usually a mixture of non costing 'in-house' events run by yourself, such as a quiz, talent show or treasure hunt, plus the hiring of local facilities (ice rink, bowling, disco etc) if the group require it.

You may also be required to accompany teachers and their pupils to the medical centre in the event of any accidents.

You will also be responsible for checking the accuracy of the hotel and resort information we provide so we can update this for the following season.

Ideally you'll speak German, Italian, French or Bulgarian to a competent conversational level, however we still want to hear from you if you possess these skills yet don't speak any languages.

Previous experience of working with children or young people is essential, as are excellent communication and organisational skills.

You'll need to have skied or snowboarded for at least two weeks on snow in a ski resort.

Our Ski Rep positions are for the peak weeks of our operating season. You can apply to work for more than one week, however it is a pre-requisite that you are available for the February half term week in 2009: 14-20 February 2009.

We are only able to offer up to a maximum of four weeks' work. Most people work for one or two weeks. No full-season employment is available.

We offer a wage of £175 per week plus in resort expenses, transport to resort from the UK, full board accommodation, uniform, full winter sports insurance, ski pass and equipment hire.

Successful applicants will be asked to attend a training course in the Autumn to ensure you are confident and understand your role. All successful applicants will undergo an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau police clearance for working with young people. PGL will arrange and pay for this.

If you think you have the talent and skills to be a PGL Ski Rep, please visit our website for more information and to apply online or call us for a chat to find out more.

You need to have the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for this role.

PGL is committed to the principle of equal opportunities
